The Advisory Office for International Students was established in 1985 to serve both the Graduate School of Engineering and the School of Engineering. In 2004, it was reorganized to become the Advisory Division for International Students (ADIS). In collaboration with the International Student Center (ISC), it provides various support and advice to international students, concerning their study and daily life. ADIS's main activities are as follows:

1. Counseling Service: We offer counseling services about daily life, social activities, and family support. We think and act together with you to help find the solutions you are looking for.
2. Scholarship Information: We support applications for various kinds of scholarships offered by the Japanese government, local governments, international associations, and private-foundations.
3. Housing Information: We provide information on relatively inexpensive housing including dormitories and public/private apartments.
4. Recycled Items for Daily Life: International students with financial difficulties may receive recycled items such as futons (Japanese mattress to make a bed), microwave ovens, teapots, etc. These items are mainly donated by volunteers.
5. Career Support: In cooperation with Japanese companies, we hold seminars for international students about job hunting in Japan. Many companies seek to hire talented foreign people, and your experience studying at Osaka University will certainly catch their eye.
6. Study Tours, Special Events and Parties: We organize various cultural events, study tours, and parties for international students and their families throughout the academic year.

ADIS is located on the 1st floor of the GSE Common West. It is very accessible to all international students, scholars and their families. International students from various countries are welcome to gather and chat in the room, which is equipped with casual meeting tables. In addition to the advisory services, we provide various learning resources including computers connected to the Internet, Japanese study materials, and newspapers from overseas. Please visit ADIS for any inquiries and requests. All the staff looks forward to seeing you.
