    Our department provides a setting that combines the concept of Panasonic’s Advanced Research Division, specifically “the pursuit of mental and physical richness and sustainable development of a diverse society”, with the resources of Osaka University, including its research information, technologies, personnel, and facilities, and thereby promotes advanced personnel development and collaborative research for both parties.     Eucommia ulmoides can produces trans-polyisoprene in its body. We established a key technologies to extract this material from E. ulmoides and are progressing the project to utilize it as raw materials in chemical industry. It could be an alternative resource of petrochemical plastics.

    The demand of unmanned mining equipment, which helps improving productivity, safety and operator comfort, is increasing rapidly. Our objective is to build teleoperation system which can control mining equipment freely from distant urban office. We are doing joint researches in wide domain, such as controls, sensors, imaging, Virtual reality, etc., with some laboratories of Osaka University. And , we are doing research in "Impulsing Paradigm Change through Disruptive Technologies Program (ImPACT)" on the basis of these technologies.

    DAIKIN Collaboration Research Institute, which was founded as the former chemical research section of DAIKIN Industries, Ltd. in 2006, was established as a collaborative research project in Osaka University and has obtained many research results until now.
    From early 2016, it aims to create fundamental technologies for the innovation of existing products or systems with the collaboration of the air conditioner section and other sections.
    In order to continue creating a more comfortable living environment and earth environment, our company DAIKIN Industries now accelerates a challenge to next generation technologies, keeping our eyes wide open into the future from the viewpoint of people living there.
