Based on technologies of atmospheric pressure plasma with room gas temperature, applications to medicine, biomaterial, analysis equipment have been conducted by integrated research field of various academic disciplines. To explore the basic principles from the process reaction elements from the point of view of physical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, by building a wide range of network to dentistry and medicine, a number of new technologies have been developed and novel researches been presented.

We study radiation physics and engineering for advanced medical and industrial applications. Studies of neutronics (neutron engineering) for fusion reactor and boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) (new cancer therapy) are being carried out using the intense 14 MeV neutron source, OKTAVIAN. Practically for the former, basic researches on interaction of neutron and matter, i.e., neutron-nuclear reaction cross sections, are conducted. For the latter, developments of intense epi-thermal neutron sources, detection device of epi-thermal neutrons, SPECT system to measure BNCT treatment effect and so on are performed.
