Professor Emeritus Shiro Kubo, Department of Mechanical Engineering received the Paul C. Paris Gold Medal from the International Congress on Fracture for “his seminal contributions to the field of creep and creep-fatigue fractures emanating from cracks in metals.” This medal is awarded to researchers who accomplished distinguished research in the field of fracture. The medal was given at the 15th International Conference on Fracture held at Atlanta, Georgia, USA on June 15, 2023.
