●Tuition Waiver System for Excellent Privately Funded International Students

・Osaka University offers tuition waiver system (Tuition Waiver System for Honor International Students) for privately funded international students who are recognized as excellent in the graduate school entrance examinations in order to further strengthen research capabilities and promote the acceptance of international students.
・The successful applicants for the programs/courses (which are subject to the system) are eligible for the Tuition Waiver System.
(※Please check with your department for the programs/courses that are subject to the system and the number of applicants to be accepted.)

●To Students with Japanese nationality or “permanent resident” status

If you are Japanese or those with “Permanent” residence status in Japan, please take examinations for Japanese, excluding a part of “Degree Program Conducted in English”.  (*Some degree programs conducted in English allow Japanese to take the exam.)  You can check exams for Japanese at the following link.

Other Types of Admission

【Research Students】
This system allows selected persons who want to conduct specific research to enroll and receive instruction in the School/Graduate School of Engineering under the guidance of the academic supervisor. Persons who would like to enroll should get the approval of the academic supervisor and the department director or major director.

  University graduates or persons with equivalent or higher academic achievements
• （２）Application Requirements (Graduate School of Engineering)
  Persons with a Master’s degree or equivalent or higher academic achievements

In accordance with Japan’s “Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act” (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”), The University of Osaka has established the “The University of Osaka Security Export Control Regulations” and rigorously implements security export control for the export of goods and the transfer of technology (including accepting foreigners).
Please be aware that applicants who fall under any of the conditions set out in the Act may not receive permission to enroll at the university or may have their education or research restricted after their enrollment.
