UQ College Delegation Pays Courtesy Visit to the Graduate School of Engineering
On May 21, 2026, Ms. Kate Galati (Senior Manager) and Ms. Renee Shibuya (Senior Teacher) from UQ College, an English language institute affiliated with the University of Queensland, Australia, paid a courtesy visit to the Graduate School of Engineering.
They were received by Professor Kiyoshi Fujita, Associate Professor Tomoyuki Terai, and Assistant Professor Junko Kimura from the Center for International Affairs.
The primary purpose of the visit was to enhance the content of the English training program for engineering undergraduate students, which commenced last year, and to build a robust partnership.
In the morning, Ms. Renee Shibuya conducted an EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) workshop for our faculty, introducing instructional methods for teaching specialized subjects in English.
In the afternoon, a discussion was held regarding the outcomes of the English training program and further enrichment of its future content. This visit served as a valuable opportunity to deepen the collaboration between both institutions.
