Delegation from TU Darmstadt Pays a Courtesy Visit to the Graduate School of Engineering

On September 24 and 25, 2026, a three-member delegation from the Technical University of Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt), Germany, visited Osaka University in connection with the renewal of the inter-university academic exchange agreement between the two universities.

During the visit, Professor Karsten Albe of Institute of Materials Science visited the Center for International Affairs, Graduate School of Engineering, to discuss international exchange activities with the Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University. Associate Professor Tomoyuki Terai of the Center for International Affairs welcomed Professor Albe on behalf of the Graduate School. They exchanged views on a wide range of topics, including joint research and international exchanges of researchers and students. Professor Albe also visited the Research Center for Ultra-High Voltage Electron Microscopy (UHVEM), where he had the opportunity to see the ultra-high-voltage electron microscopes, including one operating at the world’s highest accelerating voltage.
