Our group aims to understand material properties and physical phenomena in the electronic and atomic levels. We perform computational design of advanced materials by utilizing state-of-the-art computers, and develop innovative techniques for energy conservation and sustainability.

In the Area of Functional Device Design, researches on electronic and optical properties of organic and polymer materials are performed for applications into electronics and photonics devices such as high-speed-response liquid crystals, high-efficient organic EL, thin-film photovoltaics and organic transistors. We also have developed advanced integrated circuit techniques for low-power low-voltage applications and growth technique of gallium nitride crystals for realizing high-power and high-frequency electronic devices.
